Israeli troops invaded Palestinian areas of the West Bank overnight Wednesday and detained between seven and nine Palestinians Israeli news sources described as “wanted.”
According to one source the arrests were made in Nablus and the village of Bil’in, near Ramallah.
Bil’in is one of the sites of the long-running anti-wall protests, held weekly in three villages. Israeli soldiers often enter the area and arrest youth who took part in the demonstrations, in an effort to deter participation.
Palestinian security services confirmed the detention of four young men by Israeli forces in Nablus, all from the Balata Refugee Camp. They said troops invaded and toured the camp at 2am.
The four detained were identified as:
Mahdi Muhammad Fayyoumi, 17 Mahmoud Jamil Abu Asab, 25 Abdullah Samir Hashash, 17 Ahmad Salim Abu Maryam, 17
